We started planning the transformation of the garage to my studio before we got the keys to the farmhouse. The large garage had a back room which was full of possibilities. It was unfinished but also was a blank canvas.

The first project was to have a safe chimney pipe installed as the existing one was not properly done.
Met zo'n uitzicht wil je lekker naar buiten kunnen kijken!
When you have a view like this, you want to be able to look outside!
De timmerman kwam een raam vergroten. Binnen een half uur wisten wij dat dit juiste beslissing was...wat een verschil!
The carpenter came to install a handmade window. Within the first half uur, we knew we made the right decision. Already there was a big difference in taking out the old small frame!
Eerst werd de stenen wand uitgezaagd.
First the bricks are sawed out of the wall underneath the existing wjndow frame.
Dan een nieuwe kozijn plaatsen zodat je volop over de landerijen kunt kijken.
Then a new frame is placed in the wall allowing us to see out over the fields.
Ondertussen is mijn man een paar weken in de avonduren en zaterdagen druk aan het graven voor het riool in de nieuwe WC.
In the meantime, my husband was digging up the terraces between the farmhouse and studio for the pipes to be laid to create a powder room in the studio.
